Welcome to Rotterdam Where can I find my ship

Rotterdam is one of Europe’s leading cruise ports, offering a well‑organised, easy and efficient boarding experience. Whether you are departing on an ocean cruise or a river cruise, finding your ship is straightforward when you know where to go.

Ocean Cruises: One Fixed, Central Location

All ocean cruise ships depart from the Cruise Terminal Rotterdam, located on the iconic Wilhelmina Pier.

Close to the Erasmus Bridge and Hotel New York, this modern terminal is designed to make your embarkation smooth and comfortable. If you’re sailing on an ocean cruise, this is always your starting point.

River Cruises: Sailing from the Heart of the City

River cruise guests board their ships directly along the River Maas, right in the centre of Rotterdam. Most river ships are moored near Maasboulevard, within walking distance of major city landmarks.

Because river traffic changes daily, mooring locations may differ. Your cruise operator will always inform you of the correct spot before you arrive.

Find Your Ship with Confidence

To make navigation easy, Rotterdam uses a clear numbering system:

  • Quay numbers are visible along the waterfront and show where ships are moored
  • Harbour numbers are used on land and help taxis and transport services reach the correct spot

Both numbers lead to the same place — just from different directions.

A Smart Tip for River Cruise Guests

👉 Take note of your ship’s quay number.

When several elegant river cruise ships are lined up beside each other, the quay number is the fastest and most reliable way to find your ship and board with confidence.
