Rotterdam city centre is a popular shopping destination seven days a week. Although individual shops may set their own hours, most follow these general guidelines:
General shop opening hours (indicative):
- Monday: 11:00 – 19:00

- Friday: 10:00 – 21:00
- Saturday: 10:00 – 20:00
- Sunday: 12:00 – 18:00

River cruise ships usually dock at De Boompjes, along the Maas river and very close to the historic and commercial centre of Rotterdam.
Getting to the centre:
- On foot: Within 5 to 10 minutes you can walk to the Markthal, Cube Houses and the Hoogstraat shopping street.
- Tram or metro: Blaak station is within walking distance and connects you quickly to other parts of the city.
- Taxi or water taxi: A comfortable option, especially if you want to travel further or have limited mobility.
De Boompjes is considered one of the most centrally located docking areas for river cruise passengers in Rotterdam.
